Outfit as Personality (or, Low Key Sequins)

Outfits that have this kind of push/pull dichotomy are the outfits that make me feel most like myself. One part laid-back, type-B California girl (oversized floral dress), one part wild child (blingy jacket), one part boyish (military jacket), several parts easily excited/distracted by shiny things (tons of not-quite-matching gold jewelry).

Plus, all of these pieces are ones I've had for ages. I'm finding myself craving old, beloved closet staples. I want to slow down on the consumption - The only new items I've been into lately are luxurious, well made, ethically created things. I've been looking deep into the back of my closet, donating anything that no longer serves me and seeing if I can revive & remix what I've already got instead of impulse buying.

More to come on this mental switch....so far it's feeling great. More awake.
